Do you remember the day or year that God was no longer a myth to you but a living reality? You mean God is real? Some people find God instantly and others take years. In Acts 22:1-16 Saul (Later Paul) encounters God. Paul was a murderer. He knew the law of God and studied and lived by it. He persecuted those that were calling Jesus Lord because he knew that there was only one God. Paul couldn’t see the fact that Jesus was the one true God. Acts 22:14 says “And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.”

Paul was blinded by the truth and he needed a dramatic “eye” opener to see the truth. I am thankful I didn’t have to go blind for a moment to realize God was real. I remember being at Bible camp when the dramatic change from myth to real happened to me. It was an outside and covered church. The seats were long and made out of tree benches going down a steep hill. We were singing “Open the Eyes of My Heart Lord” and my eyes were opened and my heart beat was strong and it was like God was right there in the room with me.

Paul realized he was made to be a witness at the moment his eyes opened. He stood firm in his belief. I (Christina) may have fallen away as I got older but praise be to God when someone came four years ago and asked me “How do you call yourself a christian if you don’t live your every day life for Christ?” I was furious when they asked me that question. However, in that day I realized how far away I drifted from God. Paul was called to be a witness. What were you called to be?
